PODS was recently provided with a small amount of funding to provide some DID Emergency Information Cards.  These are credit-card sized double-sided glossy cards which can be kept easily in a wallet or purse and which provide healthcare staff with further information about DID.  They are therefore especially useful in emergency situations such as sudden admission to A&E, but will prove useful in a variety of settings.

These cards were developed with input from a variety of sources including TAG (Trauma and Abuse Group) and FPP (First Person Plural), but we would welcome your views on the cards, especially feedback on how useful they are and in what ways they could be improved in the future.

These cards are FREE to anyone who wants one in the UK - please contact us with your details.  Donations would be gladly received so that we can continue to develop, improve and distribute the cards.  You can contribute either by cheque (made payable to ‘START’) or via the Paypal button on the left.  To request them from overseas please send a donation via the Paypal button of at least $4 to cover postage.

MIND (the National UK Mental Health charity) has produced a leaflet ‘Understanding Dissociative Disorders’.  Written by Kathryn Livingston from First Person Plural, this is an excellent short introduction to dissociation.  It is very useful for giving to family, friends or GP’s etc.

It is available direct from MIND or a non-printable PDF is downloadable by clicking here.

You can also order it direct from PODS for £2.00 inc P&P.

PODS is currently putting together a series of resources to help dissociative survivors cope with triggers and everyday life.

At the moment we have two free resources available as downloadable PDFs:

Please click on the graphics to the right to download either of the resources for free.  More will be added as and when they are available.

Been to the PODS workshop ‘Living with Dissociation’?  Remember the brain science stuff about grounding?  Well here’s a poster to help you remember the three strategies for grounding based on the three parts of the front brain.

This A4 laminated poster is ideal for putting on your fridge or on a kitchen cupboard to remind you what to do when your back brain is triggered!
